Haleburg is located in southeastern Henry County in the southeastern corner of the state just west of the Chattahoochee River. It has a mayor/city council form of government. Negro League veteran and Major League Baseball Hall of Fame player and executive Monte Irvin was born in Haleburg in 1919.

According to 2016 Census estimates, Haleburg recorded a population of 119. Of that number, 94.1 percent of respondents identified themselves as white and 5.9 percent as African American. The town's median household income was $56,000, and the per capita income was $24,890.

Education
Students in Haleburg attend Henry County schools; no public schools are located within the town limits.
Transportation
State Highway 95 bisects Haleburg running northwest-southeast, and County Highway 101 runs east-west through town.
Events and Places of Interest
The Abbie Creek Bridge (ca. 1930), located about three miles north of Haleburg, is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
